About Me
Hi there! I’m Jamie — a proud 45-year-old wife, mom of two handsome boys, and a Breast Cancer Survivor who somehow turned wax and wicks into therapy, joy, and a full-blown business.
My journey started in a way I never expected. One day, I found a knot — and deep down, I knew exactly what it was. I prayed, I thanked God for giving me the wisdom to listen to my body, and then I prepared for the fight of my life. At just 29, breast cancer wasn’t supposed to be part of my story… but it was. And it became part of my testimony.
After the diagnosis, I gave myself two weeks — two weeks to cry, to feel, and to process. Then I picked myself up, found another small knot (because apparently, life likes sequels), and what was supposed to be a minor surgery turned into a major one. But through it all, God surrounded me with love and the right people at the right time. They called me strong — but honestly, it was their love and His grace that carried me through.
Somewhere in that journey, I stumbled across candle-making — and let me tell you, it lit something in me (pun very much intended). What started as therapy soon became a passion. I discovered the joy of melting wax, mixing fragrances, and accidentally convincing people my wax melts were real desserts. (If you’ve ever tried to eat one — please don’t — it’s a candle, I promise!)
That’s how Creations from the Roots was born — from strength, faith, creativity, and love. Each candle and wax melt I create is designed to spark comfort, joy, and maybe a little hunger — because yes, some of them look that real.
Every creation I pour is a reminder of how far I’ve come and how strong I truly am.
